I was enjoying some Chuck E Cheeses pizza yesterday afternoon and one of the gals said her favorite season to decorate was fall. I ask her why and she replied. “ Its the only holiday where I can decorate and it lasts for three months!”. I loved that and its really true.
If you keep to a fall theme you can leave them up for several weeks.
Here is what I do. I add a little fall color here and there and when the week of Halloween comes I just add some black bats, spiders, webbing, and purple lights and I am done!
The links this weekend are all home decor related with a fall and halloween theme. I went with the big guns this week. Next weekend it will be fall links of personal blogs and their unique home touches and ideas.
1. The Quiz- Home Goods has a cool quiz to find your decorating style. When you are finished it allows you to download your style as a photo you can use on your Facebook page header.
2. Martha Stewart Halloween- She really is at her best on this season. I love all of it.
3. 100 Fabulous Fall Decorating Ideas from my mom’s favorite magazine of all time, Southern Living. I actually have a copy in my files of my parents pictured in Southern Living at a bed and breakfast. I think the cameraman may have been a woman and could not resist my dad’s blue eyes.
4. Create a warm fall welcoming entry by HGTV and you know they are good because who has not sat hooked on one of their shows waiting to see the big reveal of the perfect home? Well, now we can create our own big reveal with a few fall decorations!
But with all these ideas don’t feel overwhelmed just keep it simple. Use what you have and just add a basket of mums or a pumpkin by the fireplace. These are just here to inspire you to enjoy the season and maybe change things up a bit.
Simple is best because we get some rest. ( smile)

Fall is my favorite too!! I love all the warm colors, the leaves, the pumpkins…and the smell of pumpkin spice in the house till Thanksgiving!
