The mom office can be many things. It can be a home office, outside the home office, a little corner in a bedroom, a drawer in the kitchen, or a huge binder and a cell phone. No matter the shape or size it is essential to keep it organized so that we can get stuff done for our family, work and our own personal needs.
I have blogged about my office pretty often. I am a GTD mom and have had an enormous amount of success utilizing this open system that truly helps you get things done.
Recently I saw a picture of David Allen’s desk the author of Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity and I was completely impressed. It was not perfect.
As a person that works in design and loves to decorate when she has the money and the time I just assumed David’s office would look like something out of Architectural Digest. But it is an office, a working office with paper, printers, computers and lots of stuff. I was so happy, because I had truly been picturing the perfect GTD office to look like a Pinterest Perky Perfect room. I guess, some folks can keep a perky, perfect room but I simply cannot. I am just too busy!
What about you? Are you on the Perky Perfect side of the office fence or the Holy Post-Its Batman – What Happened Here?!? side for the fence? I just want to be somewhere in the middle, an office with a little perk and a lot of productive action.

Simple Daily Challenge: Zip on over to the area of your home that you call office or you office at work and clear off and put away everything that is hanging out on the floor that is clutter. Yep, that is it in a nutshell. You and I are going to be so much more productive if we can keep that floor tidy. 5 minutes should do the job and won’t you be Perky Perfect proud when you are finished.
